Xiangxi Yangtze River Bridge connects Guojiaba Town, Zigui (Three Gorges region) in the south and Guizhou in the north. It is the steel box truss thrust arch bridge with the longest span in the world, with its total span being 531.5 metres and its arc rise being 138 metres. In dry season, the arch crown is about 205 metres higher than the water surface; the bridge has no pier, and surrounded by steep cliffs. Among the bridges of its kind, the bridge ranks third in the world in technical difficulty, and ranks first in Asia in clearance height.
